Reformation Then And Now
Most Christians don’t think about the Reformation very often, but
when they do, they usually think about Martin Luther nailing his 95
Theses to the door of the Wittenburg Castle Church. But Martin Luther
was just one in a long line of Christians, such as Jan Hus and William
Tyndale, who were uncompromising in their stand for truth. The
Reformation brought about martyrdom for many thousands of Christians
who put truth first. But the struggle for truth did not start 500 years
ago; it has been an on-going battle since the Garden of Eden.

Another
kind of Reformation is going on today, but it is being played out on a
different stage. Today’s Reformation is being fought out in the
schools, school boards, courts and legislatures of this country. Just
as the Reformation of the 16th century started in Germany and spread to
the world, so to is this Reformation having an impact far from America
where it began.
Just as the religious establishment of Martin Luther’s day denied the
truth and sought to enforce conformity by force and fear, so to does
the evolutionist establishment of today attempt to stifle any dissent
from their pagan religion. Just as the church of the Middle Ages
distorted true faith into a horrible parody with their ritualistic
paganism, the evolutionist establishment is taking true science down
the road of pseudo-scientific nonsense. How far they have gone in this
direction is seen in the headlines of two recent editions of the
evolutionist magazine Scientific American. The May 2003 edition’s cover
announced that "Infinite Earths in Parallel Universes Really Exist".
This story is a mix of science fiction and New Age fluff; it is
anything but science. The story piles speculation on
conjecture, treating them both as though they were proven fact. At its
heart this story is an attempt to fill in the holes in the Big Bang
story. The more that true science learns about the real Universe, the
more untenable the Big Bang story becomes. Evolutionists hope that by
inventing pseudo-scientific physics and astronomy, they can fill in
those holes. Just to make sure that they don’t look silly enough, the
August 2003 had the headline "Are You a Hologram (which is a light
picture)? Quantum physics says the entire universe might be". All of
this without a shred of testable, observable science. Modern science
was started by Christians who believed in a real Universe, created by
God, who set it up to work on rational, predictable laws. It is on this
foundation that true science has always operated. It was in the late
19th century that true science was hijacked by evolutionists who began
to distort it into the pagan religion that they have made it today. As
silly as so many of the evolutionists’ stories are, they are both a
predictable and necessary part of their religion, because what they,
and everyone else, actually see is a world and Universe that is clearly
designed for a purpose. But design and purpose are two things that
evolutionists refuse to admit, in spite of the evidence for it.
Evolutionists’ response is to create stories, no matter how absurd,
that they can present to the world to try to make their irrational
religion sound rational. The following quotes show their willingness to
twist true science for the sake of their religion of evolution.
"Even if all the data point to an intelligent designer, such an
hypothesis is excluded from science because it is not naturalistic
(atheistic)". Evolutionist Dr. Scott Todd, immunologist, Kansas State
University, September 30, 1999.
"Evolution is promoted by its practitioners as more than mere science. Evolution is promulgated as an ideology, a secular religion – a full-fledged alternative to Christianity, with meaning and morality. This was true of evolution in the beginning, and it is true of evolution still today". Evolutionist Michael Ruse, professor of philosophy and zoology, University of Guelph, Canada, May 13, 2000.
As in the 16th Century Reformation, some people put truth above their
personal welfare. So to in the 21st Century Reformation, an increasing
number of scientists and academics are putting the pursuit of truth
above the intimidation of the evolutionist establishment, leading to
the rise of the Intelligent Design Movement. Many of the leaders of the
Intelligent Design Movement, such as Philip Johnson and Michael Behe
are not Biblical Creationists; some of them are not even Christians.
What they are though, are people who see that the only rational,
scientifically defensible answer to the origins
question is that a Creator did it. Since the evolutionist establishment
can’t refute the evidence for intelligent design, they vilify those in
the Intelligent Design Movement instead.
The Intelligent Design Movement is a natural outgrowth of the
continuing scientific discoveries that highlight the scientific
inadequacy of evolutionist story telling, but the Intelligent Design
Movement is not Biblical Creation. Biblical Creation is based on the
factual history of the Bible. Biblical Creation uses science to help
explain and support the Biblical account, not to prove it. What all of
this does demonstrate is that true science and the Bible are, and have
always been, natural allies, because they are both by the same
author.
