Why It Matters ! The Appendix - Let’s Give It The Respect It Deserves
God does not make junk and the much-maligned appendix is just one example of this. At one time over 100 human organs were declared as useless evolutionary left overs. Although used by evolutionists for over 100 years as an example of a useless, evolutionary left over from our supposed evolutionary past. For over 100 years the appendix was ignored, not until recently did anyone even bother to investigate it.
Once the evolutionary prejudice was discarded, it was discovered just how useful the appendix was to the immune system. The appendix is a reservoir for good bacteria essential to our immune system and is especially important to very young children. Children are not born with a fully developed immune system and need the added help of the appendix. As we get older our immune system develops more fully, but the appendix is critical for children. It is because of the progressive development of the immune system and evolutionary prejudice that doctors were fooled for so long into thinking that the appendix was useless, because appendixes are almost always taken out of adults. It is now known that of the 100 organs once declared useless, all of them are now known to be important to us.
God does not make junk. Understanding that is one of the things that helped to bring about the Scientific Revolution of the last several centuries. Almost all great discoveries in science have been made by Christians who knew two things for sure; one is that God doesn’t make junk and two that God had created a world that could both be understood and used for the betterment of mankind.
