Walking With Dinosaurs: An Excursion into Fantasy
On the Discovery Science Channel are the reruns of what is promoted as a scientific program on dinosaurs, but is in reality an almost complete exercise in the author’s imagination. It is titled Walking With Dinosaurs.
In this series the author pretends to know how dinosaurs behaved both as hunters and parents. He pretends to know what kind of sounds they made and even what colors they were. Almost all of this being nothing but the fantasy of the author.
Dinosaurs are one of the first ways in which evolutionism is introduced to children. We need to be able to adequately answer the exciting, but largely imaginary, world of dinosaurs presented by evolutionists.
There are a few things that are known about dinosaurs. From the fossil record we know their shape and size, we know that they came from eggs and we know what they ate. From human records we know that some of them interacted peacefully with humans while others acted aggressively towards humans.
What we don’t know is their behavior or their intelligence or whether dinosaur mothers took care of their young or what color they were. Behavior, intelligence and color do not fossilize. People who present these types of things as scientific fact are lying.
At the end of the program, the author puts forth as fact what is merely speculation, the idea that dinosaurs became extinct because of an asteroid strike on Earth in the past. Historical records make clear that humans and dinosaurs coexisted for thousands of years after the Genesis Flood.
We do know what causes animal extinction, but asteroid strikes are not part of it. There are only two reasons for any animal to go extinct. The number one reason is a change in their habitat. It could be a change in the land, the climate or the food supply. For example if all of the wetlands of the world were to dry up, alligators and crocodiles would go extinct, because they need wetlands to survive. The greatest change in the Earth since Creation was the Genesis Flood, which degraded the environment so much so that it gradually led to the extinction of about half of the animals that got on the Ark. The second reason is human activities. Whether it is hunting or development, humans have caused the extinction of some animals.
When dealing with any aspect of the past, the first thing that should be done is to look at what the Bible says about it. If you start from the right place, you will generally reach the right conclusion. Since evolutionists routinely reject the true history of the Earth contained in the Bible, their conclusions are almost always significantly in error. All truth is God’s truth, no matter what subject it is.
