Evolutionists and the Arrogance of Ignorance
In a world in which evolutionism is the dominant religion, being
aware of both evolutionist claims and the arrogance behind those claims
is important in being able to effectively refute their lies. The Bible
tells us to both boldly proclaim God's truth and to oppose Satan's
lies, but to do so we need to know what the facts really are.
Evolutionists love to present their ideas as though they were tested
and confirmed scientific facts. The truth is quite the opposite.
Whether it is claims about transitional creatures such as Piltdown Man,
Nebraska Man or Archaeoraptor, all shown to be frauds, they present
their claims to the public with much fanfare as fact. When these claims
are later shown to be the inventions that they are, the stories are
allowed to fade without publicity. Such is the case with claims about
so-called "junk" DNA.
Early DNA research found that long sections of DNA did not code for
proteins, which is what the researchers had expected to find. Since
evolutionist researchers were ignorant of what these sections of DNA
did do, some evolutionists jumped to the conclusion that they were
"junk", calling them useless leftovers from our evolutionary past. This
is the same kind of thinking that happened in the past with regard to
research on human organs. Because researchers didn't know what some
human organs did, in their ignorance they classified them as useless.
At one time over 100 organs in the human body were classified as
useless, all of which have since been found to be both useful and
necessary. A Biblical approach would have encouraged researchers to ask
the correct and obvious question, which is, what purpose did God have
in creating these organs.
This same evolutionary arrogance is being exhibited in DNA research
today. Because researchers were ignorant of what some genes did, they
assumed that they were useless. But just as with human organs, further
research on these so-called "junk" genes is now showing what their true
purpose is.
An article in the October issue of Scientific American reports
on research showing that God didn't make junk, that all parts of our
bodies have a purpose. This research is showing that non-protein coding
DNA, derisively labeled "junk", actually perform a variety of
regulatory functions in the cell.
The problem with evolutionary speculation is that it starts from the
wrong presupposition. Evolutionists start out with the false idea that
things happen by accident, so they look for lots mistakes and leftovers
in the living world. This is one reason why evolutionist thinking is
not only not science, it is anti-knowledge. Evolutionary thinking has
retarded true science in numerous areas.
Those who see the world thru a Biblical worldview see the world as it
really is, a world of design corrupted by the effects of sin. A
Biblical worldview is why science started after the Reformation and the
greatest scientists have been Creationists.
Where you start out is going to determine where you end up. This is
true in all areas of life. Those who start out believing that they can
reinterpret a part of the Bible to fit whatever the latest fad is, will
too often end up rejecting all of God's Word.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. - Psalm 139: 14
